Sign up to hear about the Rural Respecting Difference Programme
The Rural Respecting Difference Programme is a three year project delivered by Early Years - the organisation for young children and the National Childhood Network.
The project will engage with 80 early year settings including rural pre-school, daycare and afterschool settings across Northern Ireland and the Border Counites. The project is based on the Media Initiative for Children Respecting Difference (MIFC)TM which helps children to understand the meaning of acceptance, inclusion and respect for others. The Programme also supports services in the border counties to achieve standards within national quality frameworks eg Siolta and Aistear.
The project is delivered via a number of engaging, innovative and fun based teaching methods including the use of specially created persona puppets to develop emotional literacy and empower young children. The project will also extend beyond the children to benefit parents, staff, management committees of early years settings and the wider community.
An eZine will issue twice yearly to update on activities of the Programme including opportunities to apply to take part. If you wish to subscribe to the mailing list please send your name, organisation (if applicable) and email address to jmcmullan@rdc.org.uk
