Good Friday Agreement, 1998
‘We are committed to partnership, equality and mutual respect as the basis of relationships within Northern Ireland, North and South, and between these islands.’ Good Friday Agreement, 1998.
25 years ago, this statement formed part of the declaration from the Belfast, Good Friday, Agreement.
Today, Early Years- the organisation for young children still work towards developing this with our new and younger generation through the Media Initiative for Children Respecting Difference programme, currently funded by the Community Relations Council
We believe in giving our children and young people the best start in life and working towards a shared society that respects diversity. The Media Initiative for Children (MIFC) Respecting Difference Programme is an intervention programme aimed at improving long term outcomes so that children, practitioners/teachers, parents and communities become more aware of diversity and difference issues and positively change attitudes and behaviours to those who are different.
