Financial Support for Individuals Working in Childcare

Early Years - the organisation for young children is a contributory partner, and provides required secretarial and logistical support, to the employer led Early Years, Care, Education and Play Employers’ Forum (Employers’ Forum).

At the last Employers’ Forum meeting, some providers identified that staff can be unaware that they may be entitled to financial support, such as through Universal Credit, and that some are of the view that if they increase their hours of work they will be worse off, because they will lose their benefits entitlement.

In consultation with the Employers' Forum, Employers For Childcare have developed a factsheet, accessible via the link provided below, designed to raise awareness of support in the first instance, and to highlight that support is designed to ensure that working – and taking on additional hours, if appropriate – is financially beneficial.
